Course Description
This module presents a process for establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders - individuals in the field who influence the practice of medicine. It explains how the stakeholder engagement process can be executed and describes the thinking behind it. The module includes knowledge checks and a detailed example that models the application of the process in a realistic scenario. It is applicable for Medical Affairs professionals who are involved in stakeholder engagement, as well as others who wish to learn about it.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this module, learners should be able to:

  • Recognize the basics of stakeholder planning, including definition, participants, relevance, principles for effective execution, and the “what” of stakeholder engagement planning: scientific platform
  • Define the “who” of stakeholder engagement planning: explain and complete a process by which the right stakeholders are identified and ranked
  • Recall the “how” of stakeholder engagement planning: an approach for creating segments of stakeholders, identifying plans for those segments, and maintaining a successful plan on an ongoing basis
  • Identify key types of stakeholder engagements including investigator-initiated studies, promotional speaker programs, medical advisory boards, and medical society engagements
