Course Overview:
This lecture covers the pharmacology, epidemiology, diagnosis, detox, and treatment of benzodiazepine substance use disorders.

Learning Objectives:
After viewing this lecture participants should be able to
• Recognize benzodiazepine withdrawal syndromes.
• Discuss the pharmacology of benzodiazepines.
• Use epidemiological data to help assess the risk of benzodiazepine use disorders.
• Apply an understanding of the risk of mixing benzodiazepines and opioids.
• Assess methods of tapering from benzodiazepines (BZs) in different patients.
