Screening for Colon Cancer: What's New is organized by University of North Texas (UNT) Health Science Center Continuing Education and will be held during Mar 08, 2017 - Mar 08, 2019.
The target audience for this medical event is physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and public health professionals. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.20 CNE Contact hours.
Conference Description :
Screening helps identify cancer or pre-cancer in patients who have no symptoms of the disease. Colorectal cancer screening is one of the most effective tools used to prevent colorectal cancer. The primary care provider needs to know the risk categories associated with colorectal cancer screening, which test to select for which patient and how to talk to patients about screening. This presentation discusses the difference between surveillance and screening, and current screening tests and their application. Finally, it will offer strategies for discussing the benefits of screening with patients.
Conference Objectives are :
• recall the risk categories of colorectal cancer screening
• recognize the difference between screening and surveillance
• apply the newer screening test strategies to improve screening numbers
• identify who should be screened earlier than 50 years of age
• discuss with patients the benefits of colorectal cancer screening
