Course Description :
It is clear from the introduction to Biopsy Interpretation of the Breast by Schnitt and Collins that while advances in molecular biology “will likely have a major impact on the practice of breast pathology in the near future, careful examination of routine histologic sections, supplemented by the judicious use of immunostains, remains at this time the cornerstone for the diagnosis of breast lesions.” This histology-based interactive microscopy course, taught by expert breast pathologists, addresses recurring problems in breast pathology seen in academic, community and private practice, and provides insight in how to resolve them.

Course Objectives :
• Evaluate diagnostic criteria and clinical significance of various common and uncommon benign, in situ and malignant lesions of the breast in both core needle biopsy specimens and surgical specimens.
• Describe differential diagnostic problems commonly encountered in breast pathology and develop strategies to resolve them in your practice environment.
• Utilize the latest information on the uses and limitations of immunohistochemistry in resolving diagnostic problems in breast pathology.
