OVERVIEW

Quality and Innovation in the Medicare Program: Leadership Opportunities for Geriatricians is organized by University of North Texas (UNT) Health Science Center Continuing Education and will be held from May 31, 2018 - May 31, 2020.

Target Audience:
This activity was planned to address the educational needs of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses.

Objectives:
• Describe the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO), including the Beneficiary and Family-Centered Care (BFCC-QIO) and the Quality Innovation Network (QIN-QIO);
• Describe the contract focus for QIN-QIOs to inform how geriatrics informs the quality improvement agenda;
• Describe new Medicare payment models that present the opportunity to support geriatric models of care; and
• Recognize and discuss the opportunities that Medicare’s Quality programs present for geriatricians to provide clinical and administrative leadership.
