Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
• Identify risks for and signs and symptoms of substance use disorder (SUD)
• Describe the benefits and limitations of available and emerging therapies for opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder treatment
• Address patient and physician-centric barriers, such as treatment adherence and inadequate adoption of effective pharmacotherapy, within the individualized care of patients with SUD
• Develop concurrent treatment strategies for the dual management of SUDs and co-existing psychiatric disorders
