Psychiatry Grand Rounds: Prescription Drug Abuse and Adolescence is organized by University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine and will be held from Sep 30, 2015 - Sep 29, 2019. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

Primary Care Physicians

Program Description:
This CME activity consists of an educational component (slides, audio lecture) in an electronic format, followed by an online post-test. Estimated time to complete this activity, including review of materials, is one hour.

Learning Objectives:
As a result of participation in this activity, participants should be able to:
• Cite the trends (prevalence) in adolescents’ medical misuse, non-medical use & diversion of scheduled medications (e.g. opioid analgesics, stimulants, anxiolytics and sedatives).
• Identify the limitations of the current knowledge relative to prescription drug abuse.
• Differentiate among sub-types of medical & non-medical users and integrate this knowledge into clinical practice with adolescents.
• Evaluate the four components of a prevention message to be given to patients.
