Psychiatric and Neurologic Medication Pipeline is organized by College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP).

Target Audience:
This illuminative course has been created especially for pharmacists, nurse practitioners or other health care professionals involved in the comprehensive medication management of psychiatric and/or neurological patients.

Session Summary:
Pharmacists must stay up to date as drug management specialists by studying newly marketed pharmaceuticals as well as those in the clinical development pipeline. To fulfil this duty, pharmacists must have a thorough understanding of each new medication's efficacy, tolerability, and safety for the studied indication. The pharmacodynamic mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, medication interactions, and pharmacoeconomics are all included in this data. Pharmacists will be well-equipped to advocate for the use of the most effective medication by educating patients and other key stakeholders, such as prescribers, with this knowledge. Participants will learn about novel and emerging psychiatric and neurologic pharmaceuticals, as well as how these drugs fit into current clinical practise, in this didactic workshop.

• Explain appropriate the efficacy and safety data of psychiatric and neurologic drugs that have recently been approved or are in the pipeline.
• Provide complete info. on appropriate monitoring requirements for these agents, as well as educational points for patients and providers.
• Discuss how novel and emerging drugs are used in clinical practise and how they fit into current clinical practise.
