Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis: Roles for Convenient Care Clinicians and Pharmacists is organized by Pharmacy Times Continuing Education (PTCE) and will be held during Aug 13, 2017 - Aug 31, 2018.

Conference Overview :
Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory, immune-mediated disease characterized by scaling and hyperproliferation of the keratinocytes in the skin. Of the 2.2% of the population in the United States with psoriasis, 6% to 42% of these patients will develop psoriatic arthritis. Recently, the benefit of early, aggressive treatment of disease has been confirmed in multiple studies. This presentation will describe the pathophysiology of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as current and emerging therapies, and the importance of the convenient care provider and pharmacist in patient care and counseling.
Conference Objectives :
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
• Demonstrate understanding of psoriasis and early signs of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) through medical history, risk factors, and clinical exam
• Illustrate comprehension of current pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment options for psoriasis and PsA, including the emerging and future targeted therapies
• Examine the role of health care professionals in a collaborative care team for effective assessment and treatment of psoriasis and PsA to achieve optimal results
