OVERVIEW

Proton Therapy for Pediatric Cancers: The End of the Beginning is organized by Baptist Health South Florida and will be held from Feb 01, 2018 - Feb 01, 2020.

The target audience for this medical event is Pediatricians, Pediatric Oncologists, Hematologists/Oncologists, Infectious Disease Pediatricians, Pediatric General Internists, Family Physicians, Neonatologists and Emergency Department Physicians. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 0.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description :
This course will discuss the long-term effects of radiation therapy in patients with childhood cancers and anticipated effects of toxicity. Proton therapy can significantly reduce the volume of normal tissue receiving collateral radiation and this course will discuss appropriate patient selection for those who will derive the most benefit.

Learning Objectives :
• Explain the benefits of receiving pediatric radiation therapy at a high-volume center specializing in treating children.
• Integrate safety precautions and ancillary services including child life specialists to improve patient care.
