OVERVIEW

Proton Therapy for Pediatric Brain and Skull Base Tumors is organized by Baptist Health South Florida and will be held from Feb 01, 2018 - Feb 01, 2020.

The target audience for this medical event is Pediatricians, Pediatric Oncologists, Hematologists/Oncologists, Infectious Disease Pediatricians, Pediatric General Internists, Family Physicians, Neonatologists and Emergency Department Physicians. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description :
This course will discuss the value proposition of proton therapy to precisely target a tumor and minimize the effects of radiation dose in uninvolved healthy tissue.

Learning Objectives :
• Discuss the incidence of specific late adverse effects on children treated with radiation therapy.
• Examine the dosimetric and clinical evidence supporting the use of proton therapy in children.
• Implement strategies that mitigate the adverse effects of radiotherapy-related toxicities impacting quality of life and overall functional status for pediatric survivors.
