Primary Care of the Stroke Patient is organized by Pri-Med and would be held during Nov 06, 2015 - Nov 06, 2018. The target audience for this medical event are basically for primary care physicians. This CME conference has been approved with a maximum of 0.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
This activity will focus on understanding stroke risk factors, recognizing stroke warnings and acute strokes, and the initial and later management of these complex patients. Ischemic lesions are responsible for about 85% of strokes; their prevention and treatment will be covered in detail.
Objectives :
• Recognize transient ischemic attacks and the major forms of ischemic stroke
• Identify patients who may benefit from acute stroke intervention
• Review the management of stroke patients in the first two weeks after stroke
• Recommend appropriate use of antiplatelet and anticoagulant agents for primary stroke prevention.
