Pediatric Cancer-Refresher 2018 is organized by American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and will be held from Apr 05, 2018 at Apr 04, 2021.

The target audience for this medical event is radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, and radiation dosimetrists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description:
Pediatric radiation oncology represents a small but crucial part of clinical practice in radiation oncology. As such the clinical practice, clinical research, and the application of newer technologies (such as proton therapy) are crucial in this setting and not likely readily available to all practitioners. This activity will update participants as to some of the key findings in recent pediatric radiation oncology clinical issues.

Learning Objectives:
• Define the role of radiotherapy and the genetic cross-section of ependymomas and how that might influence the use of radiotherapy as well as long-term prognosis.
• Identify the changing role of molecular profiling and risk stratification as well as their impact upon treatment for patients with medulloblastoma.
• Break down the scope, role, clinical data, and potential benefits of proton therapy in treating pediatric patients.
