OVERVIEW

This continuing medical education (CME/CE) course offers a comprehensive overview of pediatric asthma, with a special focus on emergency room (ER) management. Asthma is one of the most common chronic conditions among children and a frequent reason for pediatric ER visits. This course equips healthcare professionals with critical knowledge for identifying typical clinical presentations, understanding risk factors for severe outcomes, and applying up-to-date treatment protocols during acute asthma episodes. The curriculum emphasizes the importance of timely and appropriate intervention in the ER to minimize complications and reduce pediatric asthma-related morbidity. Participants will learn evidence-based strategies for diagnosing and stabilizing pediatric patients presenting with asthma, as well as how to assess the severity of exacerbations and tailor interventions accordingly. The course aims to bridge the gap between clinical guidelines and bedside practice, ensuring healthcare professionals are prepared to deliver high-quality, lifesaving care in emergency scenarios.
