OVERVIEW

Payor Coverage of Diabetes Tech, Training, and Support is organized by Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES).

Originally presented on: 12/13/2024
Expiration date: 12/13/2025

Description:
Diabetes technology is essential for PWD; however, getting devices covered can frustrate users and stump providers. Learn from a diabetes device care manager and diabetes educator about coverage and strategies for increasing success. Improve understanding of the prior-authorization process and how to explain it to patients. Review requirements payors have and how patients can help or hurt this. Billing for education and training will be reviewed.

Learning Outcome:
The fourth annual Diabetes Technology Conference goal is to ensure diabetes care and education specialists, nurse practitioners, PAs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals are knowledgeable about the newest diabetes technologies and can effectively implement and utilize them to improve clinical outcomes, enhance patient satisfaction and create a more data-driven diabetes care planning. Each session will highlight technology, providers who prescribe it and use the data to adjust treatment plans and people with diabetes who use the technology firsthand. This technology feedback loop results in collaboration that maximizes efficiency and satisfaction.
