Course Description:
Welcome to ASAM's Patient Safety in Addiction Medicine Online Course designed to prepare clinicians specializing in addiction medicine to promote patient safety in their practice using safety practices and systems-thinking approaches. In this course, clinicians will learn strategies to prevent errors, learn from errors that do occur, and learn how to take initiative in building a culture of safety in addiction medicine.
By taking this one-hour course, participants may satisfy primary board MOC requirements and what was a requirement for ABPM Diplomates.
This course is fully online and can be completed at your own pace. The flow of this online course uses a mix of didactic materials, case studies, learning activities, and assessments to help you understand patient safety in addiction medicine.
