Course Description:
This CME teaching activity is designed to provide a practical review of pulmonary pathology, neuropathology and hematopathology. Basic to advanced techniques, pearls and pitfalls to pathologic diagnosis are included. Interactive case reviews emphasize the didactic lectures rounding out the program.

Course Objectives are:
At the completion of this CME teaching activity, you should be able to:
• Discuss the updated WHO 2016 classification scheme for CNS tumors.
• Summarize the new immunohistochemical biomarkers in surgical neuropathology.
• Recognize glial and glioneuronal neoplasms.
• Classify embryonal neoplasms of the CNS.
• Explain meningioma grading.
• Recognize peripheral nerve sheath tumors.
• Discuss the WHO adenocarcinoma classification and implications for selection of targeted therapies.
• Discuss pulmonary manifestations of autoimmune disease.
• Apply a more practical approach to technical issues in processing of pulmonary pathology specimens.
• Describe the life cycle of diffuse alveolar damage.
• Recognize and assess granulomatous disease of the lung.
• Explain adenocarcinoma of the lung.
• Differentiate neoplastic and inflammatory lung disease.
• Discuss histology of autoimmune liver disease.
• Describe non-hepatrophic viral infections of the liver.
• Analyze key features of unusual interstitial pneumonia of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and its mimics.
• Review molecular pathology of lung cancer.
• Apply a more practical approach to hepatic fibrosis.
• Recognize drug induced liver injury.
