Course Description:
Genetic testing can help estimate a person’s chance of developing cancer in his/her lifetime based on changes and mutations in his/her genetic pedigree. It is important for physicians to identify appropriate patients to refer for a genetic cancer risk assessment (GCRA). This course summarizes the benefits and limitations of surveillance and risk management options for cancer predisposition syndrome.

• Explain the GCRA process and recognize the changing landscape of genetic testing – syndrome-driven versus multigene panels.
