OVERVIEW

Oncofertility and Fertility Preservation for the Radiation Oncologist is organized by American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and will be held from Feb 08, 2017 - Feb 07, 2020.

The target audience for this medical event is radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgeons, nurses, specialists and radiation oncology residents. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Overview:
This session will provide a practical overview of Oncofertility. It will discuss thescope of the risks to fertility in our younger patient population. Specific talks will include a discussion of infertility risks to males and options for therapy, and a separate talk about the infertility risks to females with an emphasis on current and future options for therapy. We will also focus on specific barriers to providing fertility preservation and provide practical suggestions on building a pathways for patients to get fertility preservation.

Learning Objectives:
• Develop a continuum of care between the patient’s disease and fertility preservation treatment
• Formulate the multiple factors that face healthcare providers when treating fertility preservation patients, including oncofertility options, age, legal, ethical, & financial considerations
