This module is the ninth of 11 modules in the Nutrition Related Care in Paediatric Diabetes Evergreen course. The aim of this module is to review the management of type 1 diabetes in adolescents, including the importance of mental health, the role of peer support and strategies for optimising the transition from paediatric to adult care.
Learning Outcomes:
- Describe considerations specific to the management of type 1 diabetes in adolescents
- Explain the key physiological differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents
- Identify strategies for optimizing the transition from paediatric to adult care
