Nursing Strategies for Managing Hemophilia A and B While Advancing Health Equity is organized by EXCEL Continuing Education.

Description:
This activity will focus on improving nursing knowledge regarding the care of patients with hemophilia A and B. Teaching techniques for self-administration of treatment, that can be implemented into practice to help patients with the management of this disorder, will be reviewed. A discussion of health inequities vs. health disparities, social determinants of health, and how participants can be empowered to take action to overcome these barriers will wrap up the accredited session, with a goal of enhancing patient care and quality of life.

Educational Objectives:
After this educational activity, you should be able to:
• Apply practical teaching techniques when educating patients regarding current and emerging hemophilia A and B treatments
• Discuss approaches and strategies to reduce the impact of health inequities to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide patients with a clearer understanding of the basics of treatment through shared decision-making and improved communication methods when discussing the various treatment regimens as they relate to clinical outcomes
