Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) is perhaps the original NORA procedure. In this course, “Anesthesia for Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT),” join Dr. Katherine Cobb from the University of North Carolina for a video lecture on practical applications and lessons to help you help your patients. Then view the slide presentation, which offers you and your team the ability to view and discuss the fundamentals of the ECT procedure.

Objectives:
• Describe the indications for ECT and the general sequence of events
• Identify the challenges of performing a general anesthetic at a high turnover pace in a remote location
• Discuss the indications and advantages of medications administered to achieve a successful ECT treatment
• Explain the risks and potential adverse effects during the procedure, including airway management and hemodynamic changes
