Overview:
Pharmacy practitioners need to be knowledgeable about new drugs introduced to the market, and public health advisories about drug therapy. This session seeks to introduce new drugs and news introduced in 2017 to practitioners in a way that is useful to their practices.

Objectives:
• Review the approved indication, common adverse effects and drug interactions of selected new drugs approved by the FDA in 2017
• For each new medication approved in 2017, describe the burden-to-benefit ratio of therapy.
• Analyze important drug alerts by the FDA (Public Health Advisories) and implications for patient care.
