Course Description:
The We Treat Hep C: Focus on Michigan Medicaid training curriculum seeks to educate clinicians and advanced practice providers on the State of Michigan's hepatitis C elimination plan, and the We Treat Hep C Initiative. This initiative aims to increase hepatitis C treatment access among Michigan Medicaid and Healthy Michigan Plan beneficiaries. The goal of the curriculum is to provide the tools, education, and resources to clinicians and advanced practice providers to become confident and comfortable in testing, treating, assessing, monitoring, and evaluating patients for hepatitis C.

Course Objectives:
• Describe how to take a focused history, conduct baseline assessment, and order appropriate testing when evaluating patients for hepatitis C treatment.
• Discuss specific situations where referral to a specialist for hepatitis C treatment is warranted and how to monitor patients during and after hepatitis C treatment.
• Learn about the different tools and resources available to providers interested in testing and treating patients for hepatitis C.
• Identify advantages to using current direct-acting antiviral drugs in the treatment of hepatitis C.
