Overview:
This educational program provides an opportunity to enhance the practitioner’s knowledge about the practical aspects of stereotactic radiosurgery using the Gamma Knife® IconTM. Participants will review clinical implications and clinical outcomes of radiosurgery, identify radiation safety principals, and apply treatment planning considerations and principals of stereotactic radiosurgery treatment hardware.

Learning Objectives:
• Recognize the basic principles and physics of radiosurgery and how they relate to day-to-day patient treatment.
• Review the clinical implications, treatment parameters and clinical outcomes of radiosurgery.
• Identify radiation safety principles and potential issues of radiosurgery and review emergency procedures.
• Apply principles of stereotactic frame and mask application, imaging and radiosurgery treatment hardware.
