Management Of Preexisting Diabetes In Pregnancy is organized by Baptist Health South Florida and would be held during Dec 01, 2016 - Dec 01, 2018.

The prevalence of diabetes in pregnancy has been increasing in the U.S. The risks include spontaneous abortion, fetal abnormalities, preeclampsia, intrauterine fetal demise, macrosomia, neonatal hypoglycemia and neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. During this course, physicians will learn how to implement the use of insulin rather than oral agents to treat diabetes in pregnancy, as well as set goals for the management of circulating glucose levels during pregnancy labor.
Learning Objectives:
Create a preconception counseling plan for women with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Implement the use of insulin rather than oral agents to treat diabetes in pregnancy whenever possible.
Identify goals for the management of circulating glucose levels during pregnancy and labor.
