Description:
Periodontal therapies have benefited from emerging new technologies and have provided patients with more effective, less invasive, and improved prognoses for the management of Periodontitis. Peri-implantitis and implant failures have also realized improved rescue of failing implants and therapy of peri-implantitis. This presentation will present Nd: YAG laser approaches which have revolutionized concepts of periodontal regeneration. These opportunities provide new options to treat periodontitis and peri-implantitis. Case reports will be incorporated to illustrate the successful management of these clinical conditions.

Learning Objectives:
• Describe the increasing scope of periodontitis and peri-implantitis
• Determine how Nd: YAG influences regeneration favorably with tenets of biofilm control, guided tissue regeneration, and regional acceleratory phenomenon
• Describe LANAP and LAPIP wound healing processes including microbial reduction, inflammation control, regional acceleratory phenomenon, and biostimulation
