Course Description :
This course discusses survival trends in cancer patients who are admitted to critical care units as well as classic predictors for mortality that are no longer relevant. Respiratory failure, diagnosis and proper management will be reviewed as seen in the critical care setting, as well as the concept of the ICU trial and triage criteria.
Learning Objectives :
• Review the latest survival trends and prognostic factors of critically ill cancer patients admitted to the ICU.
• Identify the most common reasons patients with cancer require ICU admission and utilize the most current advances in the management of these critically ill patients.
• Utilize evidence-based diagnostic and management approaches to the critically ill cancer patients with acute respiratory failure.
