Module 4 - Transportation Safety
The magnitude and burden of child and adolescent injury and allocate proportionate time to its prevention when providing care; Understand the Public Health Model of injury prevention and be able to incorporate it into practice; Improve a program focused on enhancing promotive factors; Understand resiliency and incorporate it in prevention.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Describe the epidemiology of child passenger injuries
- Differentiate the types of properly installed child passenger restraint systems
- Summarize goals of child passenger securement from the perspective of injury biomechanics
- Describe the epidemiology of teen driver crashes
- Identify risk factors for bicycle/car crashes
