Overview:
The 2023 SOGC guidelines provide current evidence-based recommendations for cervical ripening and induction of labour (IOL). This online course is based on the SOGC guidelines, and will provide information to birth attendants and pregnant individuals on optimal perinatal care, and will explore some clinical scenarios demonstrating choices about inducing labour and avoiding unnecessary obstetrical intervention.

• Define circumstances in which induction of labour (IOL) is recommended;
• Describe current techniques for cervical ripening;
• Apply current SOGC recommendations for inducing labour.
