Recently developed SCCM family-centered care guidelines are reported on and recommendations made as to how these can inform nursing practice.

• Identify the five key areas of family-centered care used in the SCCM family-centered care guidelines.
• Describe six family-centered outcomes known to improve with family-centered care.
• Generate an action plan to improve an area of family-centered care in your practice/workplace.
