About this Course
In Part 1 of this course, Dr. Trisha O’Heir discusses how mouth breathing can impact a patient’s oral and general health. The course will explore the fundamentals of breathing, answering the key questions: Why do we breathe? What makes us breathe?  The practitioner will learn how mouth breathing can negatively impact the face and occlusion and the body’s absorption of oxygen as well as the importance of nasal breathing versus mouth breathing. 

Learning objectives for this course:
• Understand oxygen absorption differences between nasal and mouth breathing
• Describe how mouth breathing leads to long face syndrome in children
• List the benefits of nasal breathing
