The goal of this course is to help hospices stay regulatory-compliant and excel in care delivery through sharing strategies for fully compliant, risk-informed, goal-directed care planning. This course emphasizes evaluation as the first step in planning, exploring practical methods to measure results without extensive research.
Learning Outcomes:
- Verbalize an understanding of the required elements of a compliance plan and describe a compliance plan and quality improvement program that connects required elements of performance with exceptional patient care delivery.
- Describe the hospice care plan process and its effect on patient care and survey readiness and identify the elements of creating SMART goals relative to care planning.
- Define and distinguish five types or domains of evaluation and apply program design and evaluation principles and techniques to a real-world initiative.
- Outline the role of Just Culture in improving safety in care and at the same time enhancing staff satisfaction and preventing burnout and outline the steps that lead to a strong, Just Culture embedded in the organization at all levels.
- Identify research related to service recovery and analyze human and systemic responses that may stand in the way of competent service recovery and develop a plan to improve response to service failures and apply techniques related to appreciative inquiry and root cause analysis to mitigate damage from service.
