This 1.5-hour social work continuing education activity is presented by Elizabeth Jorgensen. We have recently seen more and more individuals not engaging in their medical care regarding chronic illness and social workers are struggling on how to engage their patients. Parents are also requesting SW assistance with how to engage their child with their care and social workers don't have enough knowledge.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the etiology of adolescents resistant/angry presentation.
  • Learn specific assessment techniques to engage clients and accurately assess symptoms.
  • Understand foundations for working successfully with parents/caregivers to increase partnership and engagement.
