Description:
This activity will consist of three lectures by experts in the field of blood pressure. These lectures will improve the audience’s understanding of how gender affects blood pressure regulation in both normal and abnormal states, and how the pathophysiology of hypertension changes in women with age. The final talk will provide evidence with regard to whether treatment of hypertension should differ among men and women. Faculty will also review the existing literature and provide an update on recent studies.

Learning Objectives:
After participation in this activity, learners will be better able to:
• Describe how the pathophysiology of hypertension changes over the course of a woman's life 
• Express how differences in biological / hormonal systems in men and women affect blood pressure
• Discuss whether the management of hypertension should be different for men versus women
