In this training, the focus will be on the complex relationship of counseling with the counselor in mind…discovering a solid understanding of the 8 core counseling competencies. The counselor will be given an introduction to the organizations of GACA and NAADAC along with ICRC. This training will provide an understanding of the history of counseling and theoretical orientations. The participant will hopefully:
• Learn innovative techniques to counseling
• Improve cultural competency and professionalism.
• And develop goals and what they want to accomplish through coming to education classes?
This will be an interactive session, working with examples for the new up and coming counselor. Come prepared to learn and ask questions you have wanted to ask and didn’t know where to go!
