OVERVIEW

Exogenous Hormone Use and Mid-life Health in Women: An Epidemiologist's Perspective is organized by Endocrine Society.

Expires on Dec 31, 2026

Description:
Join us for a thought-provoking webinar that delves into the evolving landscape of exogenous hormone use—focusing on oral contraceptives and menopausal hormone therapy—and its impact on postmenopausal health. Designed especially for early career researchers and those looking to expand their understanding of the literature, this session offers a critical overview of key epidemiologic and clinical studies, with an emphasis on postmenopausal cancer and heart disease risks. Attendees will gain valuable tools to assess study design and findings, uncover research gaps, and explore how a few key clinical guidelines align with the available evidence. While no treatment recommendations will be provided, this session is a must-attend for those seeking to build a stronger foundation in hormone-related women’s health research.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize key findings from historic and contemporary epidemiologic and clinical studies on postmenopausal health and exogenous hormone use, including oral contraceptives and menopausal hormone therapy.
  • Critically evaluate the design, methodology, and outcomes of research studies related to postmenopausal health and hormone use.
  • Identify gaps in the current literature that warrant future research in the field of exogenous hormone use and women's health.
  • Describe how existing clinical guidelines relate to findings from key studies, while recognizing that no treatment recommendations will be provided.
