Objectives:

• Evaluate the scope of practice of brain injury rehabilitation medicine.
• Interpret the roles of a brain injury physiatrist in the inpatient rehabilitation, inpatient consultation, and outpatient settings.
• Analyze and discuss main principles of brain injury rehabilitation including injury characteristics, prognosis and recovery, and associated medical complications.
• Review updated literature and guideline recommendations for evaluation and management of concussive head injuries.
• Assess and determine opportunities and indications for referral to physical medicine brain injury rehabilitation medicine.
