Drugs of Abuse-101, an introduction is organized by Appalachian Way Counseling, LLC. This course has been approved for a maximum of 7 Hours.
Overview:
This training is relevant to certification or recertification for educational requirements and professional growth issues, along with clinical assessment, counseling services, treatment, and aftercare planning.

In this training, the focus will be on introduction of some drugs commonly abused. The clinician will hopefully learn about the effects and harm from these drugs along with the CSA schedule. This will include stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens and antipsychotics. The clinician has an opportunity to learn some common guidelines to follow with understanding the effects and how that could impact the client’s behaviors. There will be focus on tolerance and withdrawals for, alcohol heroin, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methamphetamine and more.
