This presentation will focus on the relationships between critical reasoning, clinical judgment, and diagnostic accuracy. We will work through clinical examples and focus on strategies related to understanding cognitive biases and the impact they have on diagnostic error. We will focus on ways to improve your critical reasoning in clinical practice to improve your diagnostic skills and patient care. Upon completion of this session, you will be able to understand the process of critical reasoning and the impact and causes of diagnostic error, recognize how cognitive biases can impact your clinical practice, and improve your ability to recognize the potential for diagnostic error.
