Overview :
Early diagnosis and prompt treatment with intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapy are effective in the prevention of vision loss in individuals with diabetic retinopathy (DR). Continuing advances in retinal imaging are providing enhanced approaches for the effective screening and accurate staging of disease, which in turn provides guidance for patient referral to specialists, therapy selection, and assessment of disease progression. Furthermore, management of the systemic manifestations of diabetes along with optimal incorporation of anti-VEGF therapies into treatment protocols have the potential to improve visual outcomes in patients with DR. Within this webinar series, experts in the field will discuss updates on DR classification, differentiate the options for imaging the DR patient, evaluate whether systemic control influences DR outcomes, and provide guidance for applying treatment outcomes from DR studies to real-life clinical practice. Each webinar will also include an interactive question and answer session allowing for expert guidance and clarification of optimal management protocols for patients with DR.
