Description:
More than 6.5 million Americans over 65 live with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia (ADRD). This estimate will steadily increase over the next 30 years as the number of older adults increases. Experts agree that many healthcare professionals need more training to provide this unique population with the highest level of care.
This interactive module will increase healthcare professionals’ skills to provide dementia evaluation, care, and resource support for patients living with dementia.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate between dementia and Alzheimer's disease;
- Recognize the stages of Alzheimer's disease;
- Discuss how to apply the steps included in a dementia assessment;
- Identify how an interprofessional team can support a dementia care plan.
