Description:
This 1.5 hour social work continuing education activity meets the annual core competency requirement. Human trafficking and sexual abuse identification, assessment, and education is required for social workers to review annually. Human trafficking and sexual abuse is identified and to amongst social work and hospital staff regularly and standard work is in place to properly assess and intervene.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Explain best practice approaches to sexual abuse and human trafficking.
  • Identity when to contact LE regarding child abuse and how to work together to ensure best patient care and safety.
  • Use appropriate documentation techniques and tools for abuse/neglect cases in the medical setting.
  • Assess and complete consults for Human Trafficking concerns.
