Description:
This course starts with a discussion by Paul Whelton, MB, MD, MSc, chair of the writing committee for the 2017 ACC/AHA Hypertension Guidelines, where the methods and concerns of developing the new guidelines are discussed. It also involves presentations on the discovery of white coat hypertension and the management of secondary and resistant hypertension. The session terminates with a study on controlling hypertension in patients with comorbidities and in diverse racial and ethnic groups.
