Clinical Practice Connections: New York Advanced Practice Collaborative is organized by Physicians' Education Resource, LLC (PER) and will be held from Nov 15, 2018 - Nov 15, 2019.

The target audience for this medical event is directed toward nurse practitioners and physician assistants practicing in the primary care setting. Physicians and other healthcare professionals interested in the treatment of patients in the primary care setting may also participate. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.25 Credits.

Description:
This activity will provide cutting-edge updates on 5 clinically relevant topic areas through video commentaries from leading faculty. Early diagnosis of all diseases is critical, but will be especially highlighted in Alzheimer’s disease to not only treat early and slow progression, but also improve quality of life for patients and caregivers. Reasons that ADHD in adults is frequently undiagnosed will be explored along with strategies for multi-modal, team-based care. Binge eating disorder is the most common eating disorder and requires specific and sensitive strategies for detection that will be shared along with nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic approaches to treatment. Similarly, the multiple tactics needed to incorporate lifestyle changes alongside pharmacologic treatment in patients with obesity will be shared along with insights on the impact of obesity on other diseases and conditions. New CGRP inhibition therapies for migraine will be described that can potentially address the adherence and patient satisfaction issues that practitioners frequently encounter.
