Conference Description:
This course provides the primary care provider with a practical, what-you-need-to-know update on current evidence-based data for the management of cholesterol.
Learning and Objectives:
• Implement the latest screening guidelines for cholesterol-related risk based on recommendations of the American Heart Association.
• Recognize the risk factors associated with heart disease, stroke and cancer and initiate effective patient discussions to motivate risk mitigation.
• Implement common treatments for diseases of the heart and recognize when referral to a specialist is warranted.
