Description:
In the U.S., child abuse and neglect remain growing problems. Healthcare and other professionals are uniquely positioned to identify child abuse and neglect. Early recognition often leads to intervention and support that can reduce further incidents. The goal of this course is to update Health Educators, Certified Medical Assistants, Nursing Professionals, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers to identify, assess, and report victims of child abuse and neglect.

Goal and Learning Outcomes:
After taking this course, you should be able to:
• Identify signs and symptoms in a child who is a victim of abuse and neglect.
• Describe the risk factors for becoming a perpetrator and a child victim of abuse and neglect.
• Discuss essential elements of documentation of suspected child abuse and neglect.
