At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants will be able to:
• Review the evidence base of long-acting injectable antipsychotics (LAI) compared to oral antipsychotics with regards to adherence, hospitalization, relapse, and mortality.
• Identify the role of LAIs in the treatment continuum and discuss their use earlier in the schizophrenia disease course.
• Compare LAIs with regard to pharmacokinetic profiles, loading dose strategies, and chronic dosing.
• Incorporate LAIs into treatment regimens using case-based examples.
