OVERVIEW

Case Diagnosis & Patient Selection is organized by Dentsply Sirona.

Description:
Successful treatment outcomes with clear aligners start with appropriate case selection. Whether the patient has a deep bite or an open bite, this course will help doctors make decisions on which kinds of cases they are comfortable in treating with aligners. Participants will learn best practices in utilizing diagnostic records and digital technologies to evaluate each patient’s anatomy and document their findings. Using a systematic approach and checklist, doctors will learn how to quickly identify the types of cases they feel comfortable in treating and the ones they prefer to refer to another clinician.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to:

  • Gather patients’ primary concerns about their maligned teeth
  • Create a problem list for individual patients who present with bite and/or alignment problems
  • Determine which types of cases you should consider treating vs. referring, based on your skill set and comfort level with aligners.
