OVERVIEW

The ECG is a commonly used investigation in primary care but confidence in interpretation can vary amongst GPs who are not necessarily reviewing them every day. A working knowledge of the ECG, including cardiac anatomy and electrophysiology, together with a practical approach to interpretation and an understanding of typical ECG abnormalities is essential for all practising clinicians.
